Make Up Store Cake eyeliner

Kuka muu tunnustaa? Rajauksien laittaminen on toisinaan aika upporikasta tai rutiköyhää. Rajauksista tulee joko tosi hyvät, tosi huonot ja ei ainakaan keskenään samanlaiset. Aikaisemmin en edes aloittanut laittamaan rajauksia, jos ei ollut reilusti aikaa. Kiireessä se ei nimittäin ainakaan onnistunut. Mun edellinen eye liner alkoi lähestyä loppuaan ja aloin katteleen uutta. Halusin nimenomaan jonkun sellaisen, mitä olis tosi helppo käyttää ja mulle tuli mieleen kiinteä rajausväri.

Who else can confess, putting on eyeliner can sometimes be quite tricky. The liner will be either super cool or horrible and never equal in both eyes. Before I wouldn’t even start with the eyeliner if I didn’t have a lot of time, because you are doomed to fail if you try to hurry. My previous eyeliner was finishing soon, so I started to look for a new one. I specifically wanted something easy to use and I came up with a solid liner.

Googlettelin aikani ja päädyin tähän Make Up Store cake eyeliner rajausväriin. Se on siis täysin kuiva väri, jota levitetään kostealla siveltimellä. Tosi monilla merkeillä oli tarjolla geelimäisiä värejä pienessä purkissa, mutta monet käyttäjät kommentoi geelimäisten värien kuivahtavan helposti käyttökelvottomiksi. Tämän kanssa ei siis ole sitä vaaraa, koska se on jo valmiiksi täysin kuiva!

I googled for a while and ended up getting this Make Up Store cake eyeliner. It is completely dry, solid eye liner that is applied with a wet brush. Many brands had gel liners in little containers, but I read a lot of comments that these liners easily dry out and become unusable. There is no such risk with this, because it is already completely dry!

Ostin samalla tuollaisen ohuen siveltimen, koska sellaista mulla ei ollut. Ostin rajausvärin Oulun Sokokselta yhdellä työreissulla ja heti hotellille päästyä aloin testaamaan. Koin melkoisen ahaa-elämyksen. Rajausvärin laittaminen ei ole lainkaan hankalaa, kun on sopiva sivellin ja väri! Mun aikaisemmat eye linerit oli aina sellaisia “tavallisia”, missä on se pieni pullo väriä ja sivellin mukana. Tuo uusi sivellin on ehkä kolme kertaa kapeampi kuin mun edellisen rajausvärin sivellin. Aikaisemmin värin levittämisen hankaluus johtui siis siitä, että väriä tuli kerralla ihan liikaa paksulla siveltimellä, joten levittämisen joutui tekemään äärimmäisen varovasti. Tällä uudella värillä ja siveltimellä on ihan älyttömän helppo ja nopea tehdä ohut tai paksu rajaus. Seuraavana aamuyönä tekaisin rajaukset ihan hetkessä ennen kello viiden pick-upia!

Oon todella tyytyväinen tähän ostokseen, toivottavasti tässä oli hyvä vinkki jollekin muullekin 🙂

At the same time I also bought that thin brush, because I didn’t have such brush. I bought these products from Sokos in Oulu on one of my layovers there and I started testing the eyeliner as soon as I got to the hotel. I was so surprised, in a positive way. It is not difficult at all to apply eyeliner when you have the right brush and a good color. All my previous eyeliners where the “normal” type, those with the little bottle and the brush in it. This new brush I bought is maybe three times thinner than the previous one I had. So the difficulty came with the too thick brush that brought too much color with it, so you had to do the applying super carefully. With this new color and brush it is extremely easy and quick to do a thin or a thick line. The next morning I applied my eyeliner super quickly before my 5 am pick-up!

I am very satisfied with this purchase and I hope it is a good tip to someone else too 🙂

Hei! Ajattelin näyttää yhden uuden kosmetiikkatuotteen, jonka ostin edelliseltä New Yorkin reissulta. Olin törmännyt internetin ihmeellisessä maailmassa useampaan otteeseen kyseiseen voiteeseen, joten päätin kokeilla sitä myös itse. Kyseessä on siis Clarinsin UV Plus -voide, jossa on aurinkosuoja (50) ja joka lupaa suojata ihoa myös ilmansaasteilta. Oon entistä vakuuttuneempi siitä, että varsinkin kasvojen herkkä iho pysyy parempana, kun muistaa suojautua hyvin auringolta. Oon aikaisemminkin esitellyt käyttämiäni aurinkotuotteita ja tämä on nyt sitten uusin lisäys tuohon tuoteperheeseen.

Löysin tämän Clarinsin voiteen aika hyvään hintaan JFK:n lentokentältä. Kosmetiikkakaupan myyjä kysyi multa, että mistä oon kotoisin. Vitsailin sitten myyjälle, että meillä ei Suomessa oo aurinkoa eikä ilmansaasteita, mutta ainakin voidetta voi käyttää matkoilla. Ei ymmärtänyt ollenkaan. Juttelin siinä samalla kollegoille suomeksi ja pian myyjä kysyi, että puhutaanko me ranskaa. Ei tainnut siis myyjällä olla käsitystä, missä päin maailmaa Suomi sijaitsee tai miltä ranskan kieli kuulostaa 😀

Hello! I thought I could show this newest cosmetic product that I bought from my last New York trip. I had seen it a couple of times somewhere in the internet, so I decided to try it myself too. It is the Clarins UV Plus with SPF 50 and it promises to protect the skin from pollution as well. I am more and more convinced that the skin will stay better if it is well protected from the sun. I have showed my sun products before and this is the newest addition to that family.

I found this Clarins cream in the JFK airport with a good price. The salesperson at the cosmetics store asked me where I’m from. Then I said to her, half joking, that in Finland we don’t have sun or pollution, but I can use this cream when traveling. She didn’t understand the joke. I was chatting with my colleagues in Finnish at the same time, and soon the sales person asked, if we were speaking in French. I guess she had no idea where Finland is or how French sounds like 😀

Beauty shopping – Heippa! Kävin eilen Stockan Hulluilla päivillä Itäkeskuksessa. En ollu alunperin edes ajatellut meneväni, mutta olin muutenkin liikkeellä niin päätin sitten mennä käymään. Itiksen Stocka on aika pieni, joten siellä ei onneksi ollu kovin hullu meininki. Kiersin oikeastaan vaan kosmetiikkaosaston ja löysin kaikkea tarpeellista! En ostanut mitään turhaa. Shampoo ja hiuslakka alkaa olla lopussa ja hullareilla myytiin just niitä merkkejä, mitä mulla on nyt käytössä eli Organic Shopin shampoo ja Klippoteketin lakka. Ostin myös tuota Klippoteketin kuivashampoota, se menee varastoon sillä edellinen pullo on vielä aika täys. Silmämeikinpoistoaine vetelee kans viimeisiään, joten ostin kokeeksi tuota uutta Lumenen silmämeikinpoistoainetta. Aikaisemmin oon käyttänyt Nivean vastaavaa, mutta kivempi ostaa suomalaista.

Oon käyttänyt Max Factorin Masterpiece-ripsiväriä kohta kymmenen vuotta putkeen ja ostan sitä aina Hulluilta Päiviltä. Nyt halusin kuitenkin kokeilla tuota Maybellinen Colossal Volume ripsaria, koska oon kuullut sitä kehuttavan monessa yhteydessä. Tuo oli kyllä normaalihintainen tuote, mutta samapa tuo. Ostin lisäksi tuon L’Orealin kaksivaiheisen ripsarin, joka oli tarjouksessa. Mulla on ollut tuota joskus tosi kauan sitten ja haluan nyt kokeilla sitä uudelleen. Siinä on siis tuo valkoinen puoli, joka antaa ripsille pituutta ja paksuutta, ja sitten normaali ripsari toisessa päässä. En malta oottaa, että pääsen kokeileen molempia 🙂 Ootteko te käyneet Hullareilla tänä vuonna?

Beauty shopping – Hello! Yesterday I went to Stockmann Hullut Päivät (“Crazy Days”) in Itäkeskus. I wasn’t planning on going, but I was on the move so I decided to go there quickly. The Stockmann in Itis is quite small, so it wasn’t so crazy there, luckily. I only went through the cosmetics department and I bought only necessary stuff! Nothing extra. My shampoo and hair spray are almost finished and they sold the brands I use in Hullut Päivät, which are the Organic Shop shampoo and Klippoteket hair spray. I also bought the Klippoteket dry shampoo, that will go to storage for a moment since my old bottle is still quite full. Also my eye make-up remover is almost finished, so I wanted to test that Lumene one. I have been using a Nivea eye make-up remover for ages, but it is nicer to buy a Finnish product.

I have been using the Max Factor Masterpiece mascara for almost ten years in a row now and I always buy it on Hullut Päivät. This time I wanted to try something new, so I bought the Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara, I have heard good things of it from many people. It was with normal price, but whatever. I also bought that L’Oreal two step mascara, I have tried it a looong time ago and now I want to try it again. The white end gives length and volume to the lashes and the other end is a normal mascara. I can’t wait to test them both 🙂 Have you shopped at Hullut Päivät this year?

annimarian In the cityIn the city – Heippa! Olin viime viikon lopulla siis New Yorkissa, niinkuin edellisessä postauksessa mainitsinkin. Viimeksi olin joskus kesällä ja oli kyllä kiva taas käydä! Saavutaan aina illalla ja yleensä käyn vaan ostamassa ruokaa ja sitten meen aikaisin nukkumaan. Oos joskus koittanyt käydä vähän muuallakin sillon ekana iltana, mutta oon aina niin poikki ettei siitä kiertelystä tuu mitään. Tällä kertaa kuitenkin käytiin yhen kollegan kans Century 21-outletissä siinä lähellä ja sen jälkeen näytin samalle kollegalle mistä löytyy lähin Whole Foods. Century 21:ssä kattelin Awsille takkia, mutta yllättäen siellä ei ollutkaan juuri mitään isoja kokoja. En sitten tiedä oliko isot koot menny vai oliko niitä koskaan ollutkaan. Ei oo kuulkaa helppoa löytää vaatteita jos ns. normikoot ei passaa 😀 Sunnuntaina kateltiin Itiksessä kenkiä Awsille ja todettiin (taas) että melkein kaikissa malleissa isoin koko on 46-47… No, eipähän tuu osteltua liikaa!

In the city – Hello! In the end of last week I was in New York, like I mentioned in my last post. Last time I was there was in the summer and it was nice to visit again! We always arrive there in the evening and normally I just go to buy some food and then come back to the hotel and go to sleep early. Some times I have tried to do more on that evening, but I’m always so tired that it’s not really worth it. This time, however, I went out with a colleague and we went to Century 21 (an outlet) near our hotel and after that I showed my colleague where the nearest Whole Foods is. In Century 21 I looked for a jacket for Aws, but to my surprise there were almost no big sizes. I don’t know if they were sold out of if there had ever been any big sizes. I can tell you, it is not easy to find clothes if you are outside of the so called normal size range 😀 On Sunday we were looking for shoes for Aws here in Helsinki and we noticed (once again) that the biggest sizes of almost all models are 46-47… Well, can’t shop too much, that’s for sure!

Seuraavana päivänä heräsin ennen herätystä hyvin nukutun yön jälkeen. Harvoin tulee nukuttua noin sikeästi layovereilla! En tiiä pitääkö sittenkin ottaa tavaksi kävellä saapumisiltana itsensä aivan loppuun, jos kerta noin hyvin tulee sitten nukuttua. Yleensä en juuri isompia shoppaile reissuilla, paljolti siksi ettei lentoemännän palkalla paljo mälläillä. Tällä kertaa mulla oli kuitenkin missiona shopata Victoria’s Secretillä ja Nature Republicilla. Olin googletellu Nature Republicin kaupan ja suuntasin sinne ekana. Kun nousin metropysäkiltä kadulle, huomasin siinä nenäni edessä valtavan VS:n liikkeen, jonne meninkin sitten ensin. En oo ennen ostanut VS:n alusvaatteita, mutta nyt päätin kokeilla. Onhan ne kyllä kauniita! Halusin myös ostaa uuden meikkipussin VS:ltä.

The next day I woke up before my alarm after a good night sleep. It’s not often that I sleep so well on a layover! Maybe I should make it a habit to walk more in the evening so I’ll be completely exhausted at night, if that makes me sleep so well. Normally I don’t shop much on my trips, mainly because not much of shopping can happen with a flight attendant’s salary. This time, however, I had decided to shop a little in Nature Republic and Victoria’s Secret. I had googled the Nature Republic shop and that’s where I headed first. When I came up from the metro station to the street, I saw a huge VS store right in front of me. So I went there first. I hadn’t bought underwear from VS before, so this was my first time. Oh boy, their stuff is beautiful! I also wanted to buy a new make-up bag from VS.

Me lähdetään iltapäivällä lentokentälle ja aina suunnittelen palaavani hotellille hyvissä ajoin, että ehdin vähän huilata ennen lentoa. Yleensä aikaa sitten meneekin sen verran, että huilaamiset jää aika lyhyeksi. Tällä kertaa kuitenkin sain aikaiseksi palata mid townista takaisin down towniin ihan hyvissä ajoin. Muistin, että siinä hotellin lähellä on yks kirjakauppa ja menin vielä käymään siellä. Ostin yhden kirjan ja kun mulla oli vielä aikaa, otin kirjakaupan kahvilasta kahvin ja istuskelin kahvilassa tovin lukemassa mun uutta kirjaa. Ihanaa! Siitä sitten ruokakaupan kautta takaisin hotellille. Toivoin just ens kuulle taas Nykkiä. Se paluu on kyllä karmiva, kun ollaan aamulla Helsingissä. Siinä on sitten päivä kaupungilla plus työyö takana ja uusi päivä taas edessä. Siitäkin huolimatta tykkään käydä 🙂

We leave to the airport in the afternoon and I always plan to return to the hotel in a good time to have some time to relax before the flight. Most of the times I end up returning to the hotel so late that I don’t have too much time to rest. This time I managed to leave mid town and return to down town in a good time. I remembered that there is a book store near our hotel so I went there. I bought a book and because I still had time, I took a coffee from a café in the book store and sat down to read my new book. Lovely! From there I went to Whole Foods and then to the hotel. I have bid New York for next month again. The return is brutal, because we arrive to Helsinki in the morning. That means I have a day in the city plus a night at work behind me and a new day ahead. Regardless of that, I still like visiting the city 🙂

annimarian Oulu loveOulu love – Oulussa taas! Tulin eilen illalla Ouluun ja tänään mulla lähtee lento takas kuuden jälkeen. Käytiin aamulla äitin ja mummun kans Kauppahallissa kahvilla ja sen jälkeen mää kävin vähän katteleen kaupungilla. Kiertelin Sokoksen meikkiosastolla pienen iäisyyden, kattelemassa vaan. En muista millon olisin Suomessa viimeksi käynyt ihan vaan pyörimässä kosmetiikkahyllyillä, kun yleensä tulee vaan juostua hakemassa joku tietty asia. Nyt kiertelin hartaasti ympäriinsä kattelemassa, kun oli reilusti aikaa ja ilmakin on sateinen.

Huulirasvan, kuivashampoon ja peitevärin ostin loppuunkuluneiden tilalle. Sitten ostin vielä huultenrajauskynän ja valkoisen kajalin. Tuo Klippoteketin kuivashampoo on paras mitä oon kokeillut ja oon käyttäny sitä jo vuosikausia. Etsinnässä oli myös vihreä peiteväri mun couperosa-iholle. Olin valmis ostamaan joltain kalliimmaltakin merkiltä, kunhan vaan löytyis hyvä. Tässä viimeaikoina oon netissä selaillut eri merkkien valikoimista punaisuutta taittavia peitevärejä, mutta niitä on yllättävän vähän tarjolla. Tavallisia peitevärejä on kyllä tarjolla jos minkälaisia, mutta varsinaisia punaisuutta häivyttäviä, niitä vihreitä, ei oo kovin paljon. Olin ensin ajatellut tulevalla Nykin reissulla etsiä, mutta nyt löysinkin Maybellinelta hyvätä vaikuttavan aineen. Ainakin kämmenselän iholla näytti tehokkaalta, saa nähä miltä näyttää sitten kasvoilla. Onko kellään vinkata mitään hyvää tuotetta couperosa-iholle?

Mulla on tässä vielä reilusti aikaa ennen pick upia, joten ajattelin tehä vähän tietokonejuttuja ja neuloa villapaitaa, minkä aloitin tuossa vähän aikaa sitten. Sopivat sadepäivän aktiviteetit 🙂

Oulu love – In Oulu again! I arrived here yesterday night and today my flight leaves after 6 pm. In the morning I went to have coffee with my mom and grandmother and after that I went to walk around in the center. I wandered around the cosmetics department in Sokos for ages, just looking around. I don’t remember when I did that last time in Finland, because usually I just run to get what I need and that’s it. Now I just walked around and looked, because I was in no hurry and even the weather is rainy.

The lip balm, dry shampoo and concealer I bought because the old ones were finished. Then I also bought a lip liner and a white kajal. That Klippoteket dry shampoo is the best I have tried and I have used that for years. I was also looking for a green concealer for my couperosa skin. I was ready to put more money on it if I found a good one. Recently I have been browsing different brands’ selections online to find a green concealer for red skin, but to my surprise there aren’t many options. There are million options for normal concealers, but those especially meant for red skin are very few. I had planned to continue my search in New York in the end of the month, but I happened to find one option from Maybelline. At least it looked promising on the back of my hand. Let’s see how it looks on the face. Do you have any tips for products for couperosa skin?

I still have a lot of time before my pick up, so I’ll do some computer work and then continue knitting the sweater I started some time ago. Perfect activities for this rainy day 🙂
