New York – Heippa! Tänä aamuna palasin kotiin Nykistä ja tässä muutama kuva reissusta. Vaikka sää oli pilvinen, siellä oli kuitenkin ihanan lämmin ja pääsi vähän aistimaan kesätunnelmaa. Nämä Suomen säät tänä kesänä on kyllä jotain niin uskomatonta… Ekana iltana New Yorkissa kävin tapani mukaan vaan ruokaostoksilla ja tällä kertaa kävelin myös siellä Hudson-joen rannalla meidän hotellin takana. Meidän hotelli on siinä ihan WTC:n nurkilla niin siitä on lyhyt matka sinne rantaan, mutta eipä ollu tullut ennen käytyä! Tosi kivalta siellä näytti!
Toisena päivänä näin mun kaveria, joka on vasta muuttanut New Yorkiin työkeikalle. Käytiin hakeen aamupalaa mukaan ja mentiin Central Parkiin istuskelemaan ja syömään. Sen jälkeen käveleskeltiin puistossa jonkun aikaa ja sitten mentiin vielä kahville ennenkuin mun piti lähtä hotellille päin. Tuon kaupungin metro on kyllä aikamoinen sekamelska välillä. Nytkin kun olin menossa Times Squarelta takas hotellille, metro lähtikin eri raiteelta, kuin mitä opasteissa kerrotaan. Sitten siinä matkalla metro ei pysähtynytkään monella asemalla, vaan ajeli vaan ohi. Onneksi sentään pysähtyi mun pysäkillä! Yhtä lailla siellä paikallisetkin katseli ihmeissään ympärilleen. Sitten vielä kun nousin pois metrosta, osaan vaunuista meni jotkut vartijat huuteleen jotain tulevista pysäkeistä tai jotain ja taas kauhea hässäkkä, koska suurin osa ihmisistä ei kuullut mitä ne huusi. Täytyy siis aina varata ihan reilusti aikaa, jos tulee jotain yllätyksiä matkalla.
Aamulla kun tulin kotiin nukuin muutaman tunnin ja tuossa välillä olikin ihan normaali olo, mutta nyt alkaa väsymys todenteolla painaa. Taidankin tästä seuraavaksi mennä nukkumaan. Kivaa viikon alkua!
New York – Hello! This morning I came back home from New York and here are a few pictures from the trip. Even though it was cloudy it was still warm and kind of summery, which was very nice. The weather in Finland this summer is just unbelievable… (+10 degrees and rain right now). In the first evening there I went to buy some food, like always, and this time I also went for a little walk by the Hudson river behind our hotel. Our hotel is right by the WTC so the river is very close, but still this was the first time I actually went there. I was very pretty there!
On the second day I met with my friend, who recently moved to New York for a job. We went to get some breakfast and walked to Central Park to sit down and eat. After that we walked a little around the park and then we went for a coffee before I had to return to the hotel. The NY metro is a mess sometimes. Like yesterday when I was leaving from Times Square, the metro used a different track that was said in the signs. Then on the way the metro didn’t stop on many stops, but just went by. Luckily it did stop on my stop! Also the locals seemed confused. And just went I got out of the metro, some guards stepped into some of the cars and started shouting something about the next stops. And again a huge hassle because half of the people didn’t hear what they said. I have learned to leave enough time for the ride, if any surprises come.
In the morning when I came home I slept for a few hours and I felt quite normal after that. But now the tiredness is kicking in hard! I think I will go to bed soon. Have a nice beginning of the week!
